Everyone In The World Let Down

The world of cricket lay in ruins last night, as it was revealed that a cricketer had had a couple of beers. The cricketer, known only as Andrew Symonds, was led away in chains to await trial by mob, when he ordered a second VB after ruthlessly consuming the first.
A shaken and trembling Cricket Australia chief suit James Sutherland fronted a slavering media pack. “This was his last chance,” he said. “He’s had 15 other last chances, but this time we really, really mean it. His contract was on the table, but now it’s not on the table. On the table – whip! - off the table. On, then off. That’s what it means when you’ve blown your very lastest lastest chance. He may get one more, I haven’t decided yet.”
Captain Ricky Ponting spent his 25-minute press call shaking his head slowly from side to side. “He’s let himself down, he’s let his mates down, he’s let you down, he’s let me down, he’s let the tyres on my car down and hopefully going to jail for seven years or whatever will teach him a lesson about letting things down.”
Tomorrow, the tee-totallers at the media will make moral judgments about other people drinking.

Everyone In The World Let Down

“Your answer should be who’s doing the criticising and look at their background.”

Tim Cahill responds to critics of Australia’s style of play, most notably one Foster, C.

Darn. Just as people started to get on the Sam Stosur bandwagon, we all have to get off again. The muscular Queenslander was out-muscled in her French Open semi by Svetlana Kuznetsova, denying an adoring public the chance to keep admiring her giant biceps and heroic shoulders, and giving the media more time to find out who she is again.

You may have plenty to do on Saturday night, but if you pass the teev, have a look at the Wallabies-Barbarians game. Notwithstanding the Sonny Bill thing, there are some brilliant players on both sides, the Wallabies are about 10 times better than they were 18 months ago, and it should be some game.

Yeah seems petty to be banned for having a couple of beers. But athletes have rules to follow for the betterment of sport. Your in a position of this nature and you don’t follow the rules, then you have to pay for the consequences regardless of how stupid the rules may seem. He knows better.
